Dates and figures below are indicative for the 2027 cohort and are confirmed with your university before applications open. The fee and the full budget are set out on the Fees & Funding page.

Format 8 weeks of live online teaching from home, followed by 4 weeks of full-time immersion in France.
Dates 2027 — the first cohort. Online: April to early June. In France: mid-June to mid-July.
2028, and every year after that, on the same April-to-July rhythm.
A partner university bringing a full group of its own can have a cohort on its own calendar — autumn included. Dates are set with your international office, around your exams.
Who it is for Students in the second half of a Bachelor, or the first year of a Master — any discipline. Engineering, business, media and others sit in the same cohort. No prior specialisation required.
Language English throughout, plus an introductory French language and culture module.
Cohort Around fifteen in a classroom, and never more than twenty-five in the whole cohort. A cohort may bring together students from more than one partner university.
Where CFI Formation campus, Clermont-Ferrand — central France, three hours twenty from Paris by direct train.
Award Certificate of Achievement, issued and signed by CFI Formation, with an official transcript in English and French: the modules you took, your 104 contact hours and your assessment results. It is the document your own university uses to grant you credit.
How it runs

Two phases, one continuous programme.

You do not arrive in France as a stranger. By the time you land, you have already been working with your teachers and your cohort for two months.

Phase 01
Eight weeks online
From home · April to early June 2027

Two live sessions a week, two hours each, delivered by CFI faculty in English and scheduled to suit the Indian time zone. Between sessions you work on a running group project and short applied assignments.

This phase does three things: it delivers the academic content that does not need a classroom, it builds a working relationship with your teachers before you travel, and it prepares you — practically and culturally — for the month that follows.

Phase 02
Four weeks in France
On campus · mid-June to mid-July 2027

Full-time on campus in Clermont-Ferrand: classroom teaching, company visits, guest speakers from local businesses, and a consulting-style group assignment for a real French company. Afternoons and weekends follow a structured cultural programme.

A named CFI coordinator is responsible for the group throughout the stay — one person, reachable, who knows where everyone is and what everyone needs.

Academic content

What you will actually study.

Indicative content. The final module list is designed jointly with your faculty so that it complements what you study at home rather than repeating it.

  • An applied consulting projectA real brief from a local company, matched to your field, presented to the group at the end.
  • Company visits and guest practitionersAllocated by student profile — industrial sites, distributors, agencies.

The programme is deliberately transversal. It teaches how European business works rather than a single specialism, which is what allows one cohort to bring together engineers, marketers and media students without diluting anyone's experience.

A full day inside a French company

Paired one-to-one with a French student who actually works there. Not a guided tour — their day, with you in it. We arrange everything with the host company.

A CFI buddy from day one

A student here is assigned to you from the first online session through to your departure. Someone to ask the things you would never ask a teacher.

03
A real brief, not a case study

A local company gives your group an actual problem. You work it for four weeks and present your answer to them. It goes on your CV because it happened.

  • Your travel route prepared before you fly, and a CFI welcome on arrival in Clermont-Ferrand

Accommodation and transport for the four weeks. We arrange the room and add it to your invoice — the price is on the Fees & Funding page.

  • A furnished room of your own with a kitchen area — a studio, or a private bedroom in a shared flat, depending on the size of the cohort
  • Water, electricity and internet included in the rent — no second bill, nothing to set up
  • Your local public transport pass for the whole stay
  • Booked from here, and charged with your second instalment

Worth taking for a reason beyond convenience: the option comes with a proof of accommodation, which makes your visa file considerably simpler. Without it you must justify a higher level of personal funds.

Visas

Simpler than you have been told.

Most students assume a French study visa means months of paperwork. For a four-week stay, it does not.

The regime A four-week stay falls under the Schengen short-stay rules: a short-stay visa for study purposes, valid up to 90 days in any 180-day period.
What it avoids It does not require the Campus France Études en France procedure — the long route that applies to full degree enrolment.
What CFI issues Your enrolment certificate and your insurance certificate — and, if you take the accommodation option, your proof of accommodation.
What you do You lodge the application yourself at the French visa application centre in India. We ask your university for a letter confirming your student status and expected return.
Timing Appointment capacity in India is limited in peak season. Cohorts are confirmed at least ten weeks before departure so that every application is lodged in good time.

We give you a complete file. We cannot promise an outcome — no school anywhere can, and you should be wary of any that does.

For universities

The programme runs on a standard format. What is agreed bilaterally is the number of places reserved, any adjustment to the calendar, and the academic recognition arranged on your side.

  1. An introductory video call between your faculty and CFI Formation's management — 45 to 60 minutes, no commitment.
  2. Agreement on the academic content, the target cohort, and the credit or certification arrangements on your side.
  3. A memorandum of understanding setting out the number of places reserved, the fees and the payment schedule.
  4. A joint information session for interested students on your campus, online — the honest way to test real demand before anyone commits.
  5. Confirmation of the cohort and launch of visa applications, ten weeks before departure.
